Niamh O'Shea
Clinical Trial Coordinator

Niamh joined INFANT in January 2010 as the Clinical Trial Coordinator for an international, multicentre EU FP7 funded project entitled The HIP Trial which is investigating the role of dopamine in the management of extremely preterm infants who develop low blood pressure after birth.

Niamh provides project management support to Professor Dempsey, INFANT PI on his other projects including the SafeBoosC Trial, The RSV Trial, The MINT 1 Trial and most recently a phase II trial involving the use of aerosolized lucinactant in premature infants.

  • Niamh expertise includes regulatory and ethical clinical trial applications, ICH GCP, regulatory and monitoring audits, overseeing and managing trial master files and investigator site files, drafting/processing trial documentation, document control and sponsor and client liaison.
  • Niamh was previously employed as the Project Manager for an independent, single-centre CRO which performed Phase I bioequivalence and bioavailability clinical trials and dental and cosmetic studies. Niamh has been working within the research industry for 12 years.
  • Niamh is recently completed an MSc in ‘Healthcare Ethics and Law’ at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
