INFANT Studies

Update on current INFANT studies

Following Government directives that higher education institutions should close, UCC’s physical campus, including INFANT offices within Cork University Hospital and Cork University Maternity Hospital, will be closed from 12 March until 5 May. However we want to assure you that INFANT research staff are all working remotely and are available if you have any queries related to your child’s participation.

Below is an overview of the INFANT studies your child may be actively participating in and an update of their status with relevant contacts in case you have any questions or concerns.

STOP AD

2, 4 and 8-week and 6-month appointments:  These appointments are on hold during this closure. Assessments are now being carried out by phone or via an online questionnaire. You may have already been contacted by a member of the study team about your appointment(s).

12-month appointment: For babies born in April/May 2019, firstly, a big HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY! We would usually be contacting you now to arrange the final study assessment. As all study visits are on hold, we have pushed this visit out to 14 months and will be in contact with you closer to June.

For all STOP AD participants: Importantly, please know that we are still available over phone and email if your baby develops any rash or has any feeding issues. Please do not hesitate to contact the study team by phone or email if you have any concerns.

Many thanks from the study team (Carol, Geraldine, Denise and Ita) for your continued participation. Looking forward to seeing you and your baby again soon!
