We are thrilled to share that Prof Geraldine Boylan, Director of INFANT & UCC Futures Children, has been awarded the UCC Medical School Medal 2024.
Prof Paula O’Leary, Dean of the School of Medicine at UCC, congratulated Prof Boylan on receiving the award, “We are hugely proud of Prof Boylan’s achievements and her amazing journey. Her success and leadership at the interface of neuroscience, bioengineering, physiology and neonatology is not only deeply respected by her peers but also serves a powerful inspiration to the next generation of clinical scientists and doctors”.
Her work continues to make a real and lasting impact – improving care and outcomes for many children and their families. CergenX, an INFANT Centre spin out co-founded by Prof Boylan, is translating research into clinical practice with the Wave device—an AI-powered innovation in neonatal neuroprotective care that is revolutionising the assessment of newborn brain function.
Huge congratulations to Prof Boylan on this well-deserved recognition.
