Caoimhe Byrne

PPI Coordinator with the In4kids Network and a EPE Manager on the ELEVATE project.
Caoimhe Byrne is the Public and Patient Involvement (PPI) Coordinator with the In4kids Network and also holds the role of Education and Public Engagement (EPE) Manager on the ELEVATE project.
She has been involved in science outreach in Australia, Scotland, and Ireland since 2013. Having worked predominantly in the tertiary education and research sector, Caoimhe has led several public engagement programmes and communication campaigns to promote science and research to school students, patients, and the wider community.
Caoimhe has completed the Irish Universities Association Campus Engage Course, Engaged Research & Innovation For Societal Impact: Building Capacity Across Ireland in 2023 which sought to embed trained facilitators across research-hosting organisations in Ireland. Badged facilitators have a key role in leading engaged research projects within their institution, building capacity for engaged research as part of their remit, and supporting researchers in maximising the impact from engaged research efforts.
