Philanthropy & Supporters

INFANT’s research is supported through a combination of national and international funding, industry partnerships, and philanthropic investment.

The generosity of our donors has helped advance research that improves outcomes for mothers, babies, and children. Philanthropic support has contributed to major initiatives, including the establishment of a Chair in Neonatology and the development of the paediatric academic unit at the INFANT Centre in Cork University Hospital.

This support enables INFANT researchers to address some of the most significant challenges in pregnancy, newborn health, and childhood development. It also helps attract additional investment, strengthen research capacity, and accelerate the translation of discoveries into improved patient care.

We are deeply grateful to all those who support our work. While some donors choose to remain anonymous, their contributions have made a lasting impact on our research, our partnerships, and the families who benefit from our work.

Merck Millipore Life Science Community Engagement Programme

Since 2017, the Merck Millipore Life Science Community Engagement Programme has supported a number of INFANT research and global health initiatives.

This support has contributed to research across key areas including neuroscience and development, fetal and maternal health, and global health. Through this partnership, Merck has also supported the development of a cloud-based Medical Birth Registry at the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC) in Tanzania, a long-standing research partner of INFANT.

The programme has helped strengthen research capacity, support international collaboration, and advance projects that aim to improve health outcomes for mothers and children both in Ireland and globally.
