Varsha is a first year PhD student at INFANT. Her research project focuses on the Coronial Investigation of Perinatal Deaths and its impacts on coroners, healthcare professionals, and the community.

She is interested in health policy and health systems. Her PhD project aims to develop policy recommendations and a report that will guide the coroner’s investigation process and offer recommendations to coroners and healthcare professionals, and support services for grieving parents. The findings of her study will build upon existing research collaborations to inform the development of resources for parents undergoing perinatal death reviews. Her research is funded by Féileacáin, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Association of Ireland. Her supervisors are Professor Keelin O’Donoghue (INFANT), and Dr Sara Leitao (NPEC).
