Claudia joined INFANT in July 2025 to support projects involving EEGs. She is currently working on AIM-HIGH, a project that aims to characterise the development of neural architecture and function during sleep and sensorimotor events using EEG and VEP in children diagnosed or at risk of cerebral palsy.
Claudia graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Neurophysiology from Oporto School of Allied Health Technologies (Portugal). She has worked in Clinical Neurophysiology in the Bon Secours Hospital Cork where she designed and launched the first private dedicated Paediatric Epilepsy Monitoring Unit in Ireland.
In 2024, Claudia joined the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology at Cork University Hospital and was responsible for the design and implementation of a new continuous EEG monitoring protocol for infants admitted to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Claudia’s main interest is neonatal EEG, and she is passionate about education and training. She is a guest lecturer for the Masters in Clinical Measurement Physiology at UCC, lecturing in Neonatal EEG.
She has completed a Postgraduate Diploma with First Class Honours in Quality Management and Validation from Technological University of the Shannon – Athlone and is currently undertaking the Masters in the same area.
