Peter is interested in large-scale, applied epidemiological research. His PhD is focusing on the long-term risk of maternal renal disease after adverse pregnancy outcomes. This is a collaborative project between INFANT, the School of Public Health UCC, and the Department of Clinical Science, Intervention and Technology in Karolinska Institutet, Sweden.
His areas of previous research experience have been varied, spanning the epidemiology of substance use, self-harm, and aspects of infectious disease control (HIV, measles, antibiotic resistance). He is particularly interested in vulnerable groups and in applying research to public health interventions and policy.
